This is a seasonal talent/gift search and awards project, geared towards promoting gospel music ministry by addressing challenges such as low quality of music, lack of exposure and experience, untapped/underutilized skills and lack of professionalism. It presents an opportunity for improvement, growth and development of church music ministry, through discovery of ideal talents/gifts, training, mentorship, innovation and creativity, hence, an ideal platform for Christians who are gifted in music as a tool for evangelism and worship. 

Popcorn Experience is a symbolic name representing a perfect transformation process into ultimate usefulness. Just like popcorn is subjected to intense heat that finally makes it turn into a more useful product, this program provides the amazing experience of discovering, nurturing and exploring talents/gifts, and popping out “Anointed Complete Gospel Ministers”. The project is conducted in five (5) stages with 70 participants in stage one (1), and the final stage is a Big Music Concert in which grand prizes are won. The final show is graced by special guests, guest musicians and the general public. Discover your potential, explore the Glory of God.

FORMAT

  • The event has 5 stages of contest and a final. Individuals/groups register for nomination to participate in the stages
  • The registration fee is Ksh.500 per individual and Ksh.250 per member of a contesting group, per category of choice.
  • Voting is done on the website at KSH. 30 per vote, the results are analyzed and displayed on a secured dashboard on Donzier Digital website.
  • Successful/nominated individuals get notified via text and/or email containing details of participation in the stages.
  • Every contestant in every stage is provided with personal marketing and promotional media for votes hunt.
  • Two individuals get eliminated in every stage. Judges reinstate one eliminated contestant based on impression.
  • The winners are awarded in the BIG FINAL SHOW; finalists perform live, all participants, organizations, special guests and popular musicians are invited.
  • The contest stages are done in different venues and may involve traveling.
  • Every stage is recorded and edited for digital marketing, branding and promotion in the mainstream media.

AWARDS

  1. Monetary awards for sub-categories winners and finalists.
  1. Music Video Production and marketing deal for the first three contestants.
  2. Affiliate membership to Donzier Music Team and Live Band for Donzier events.
  3. Music mentorship and training workshop for finalists (For 2 days before the final event).
  4. Certificates of participation in all stages (1-5) and, certificates of merit to finalists and positions 1 and 2 in stage 5.
  5. Every stage five participant gets a branded T-shirt, every finalist gets a trophy.

N/B. Special guests to give awards and guest musicians to perform in the final stage alongside the finalists. Partners and sponsors are invited.

NOTE: Meals will be provided during the music workshop and retreat, which shall take place in a hotel. This will only involve the finalists, the guest artists and Donzier Digital staff members. The finalists shall as well rehearse with a band for their final performances. The guest musicians and the finalists shall perform in a selected church during a Sunday service before the afternoon final show.

Terms and conditions

  1. Registration fee and voting cost are nonrefundable
  2. All votes are verified and confirmed by an independent body for quality control
  3. Registration shall be clossed as soon as the required number is reached. No further applications shall be allowed.
  4. All contestants must participate in all qualified stages, failure to which a contestant shall be eliminated from the contest.
  5. Two contestants are eliminated in every stage. The judges shall reinstate one eliminated constestant in stages 1 -5, based on skill display and impression.
  6. All disputes must be forwarded to Donzier Digital  Programs Committee. The resolutions of the committee are final.
  7. All contestants must be disciplined, observe rules of engagement, and respect the decisions of the judges and Donzier Digital.
  8. A sibling to any of the judges is not eligible to contest. This shall lead to automatic disqualifiaction.
  9. Donzier Digital reserves all the rights of Popcorn Experience Music Awards, and may modify or alter the concept or format as may be neccessary.
